Royal Air Maroc Cancels New York Casablanca Flights Due to Blizzard

New York – Morocco’s state-owned airline carrier Royal Air Maroc (RAM) announced on Saturday the cancellation of its flights to and from New York scheduled Saturday following the deterioration of weather conditions in the United States of America.The announcement was made as the US east coast is being hit an historical blizzard.The ongoing blizzard on Saturday afternoon promoted New York Andrew Governor Cuomo to announce a citywide travel ban of 2:30 p.m. local time and the cease of operations for aboveground subways beginning at 4:00 p.m. The US National Weather System has issued an active blizzard warning that will remain in effect until 7:00 a.m. Sunday morning.Snowfall has been recorded at 20-25 inches, with winds from the north at 20-30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
