first_imgLEE McMonagle hit two goals as county champions St Eunan’s eased past Glenswilly and into the semi-finals of the Donegal Senior Football Championships at Mac Cumhaill Park this evening.John Haran rolled back the years once again as the black-and-amber put in a team performance to see off the challenge of the 2013 champions by a winning margin of eight points.The return of Eunan’s talisman Rory Kavanagh from America coupled with some superb individual performances throughout the team gave St Eunan’s a 3-07 to 0-08 win. McMonagle’s first half penalty and a second goal in the 50th minute – five minutes after Conal Dunne netted – proved the difference in the game.Dunne and McMonagle were excellent for Eunan’s.Glenswilly had led by two points in the early stages, but Eunan’s soon caught up and never looked back and led at the break 1-04 to 0-05.Kavanagh was sent off ten minutes from the end – for a second yellow – after an incident in which Glenswilly’s Brian Farley was given a straight red card.
