They responded with 269 yards rushing in the second half. White assumed a smaller role at the outset of the season, perhaps because he’s more outspoken than Leinart and Bush, but just like in the Orange Bowl (when he gained 118 yards), White demonstrated his worth when given enough carries. “We proved today that we can share time and still make the plays and score,” Bush said. It also showed USC could become a run-first team instead of making Leinart the focal point. Leinart received seven stitches in his chin and admitted he felt out of sorts although USC coach Pete Carroll said he didn’t suffer a concussion. “He wasn’t at his best,” Carroll said. “We tried a little too hard to get something going (in the first half).” Everyone knows White and Bush are two of the top tailbacks in the nation, but it took three games for USC to really take advantage of it. White, unfairly maligned by some within the USC program following the Hawaii game, showed against Arizona State that he’s possibly as talented as the more-hyped Bush. “He might be the most talented player,” the NFL coach said. An NFL coach watched USC’s come-from-behind victory over Arizona State on Saturday and made a quick observation about the No. 1-ranked Trojans. “The offense was in shambles in the first half,” the coach said. “LenDale White and Reggie Bush are the two best players on the team. Those two are legitimate NFL players and big-time prospects. I don’t understand why they just didn’t focus on those two guys and that way they don’t put the defense in any strenuous situations.” Perhaps the best indication was a bootleg play Leinart ran independently in the third quarter that resulted in a six-yard loss. Asked where that play originated, Carroll said, “You can ask (Leinart). It came out of nowhere.” Meanwhile, USC’s running game set its own record Saturday. For the first time in school history, two USC tailbacks rushed for more than 100 yards in back-to-back road games. The last time two USC backs gained more than 100 yards in two straight games occurred in 1977, when Rod Connors and Dwight Ford did it against Texas Christian followed by Ford and Charles White eclipsing 100 yards each against Washington State. USC NOTES: Safety Kevin Ellison will probably be lost for the season with torn knee ligaments, and will undergo an MRI for confirmation today. With Ellison out, cornerback Mozique McCurtis, out since training camp with a hernia, will get a chance to step into the nickel-back role. .. Linebackers Brian Cushing and Dallas Sartz (dislocated shoulders) are doubtful this week, Carroll said. … Defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis is bothered by a sore hip and is questionable. 160Want local news?Sign up for the Localist and stay informed Something went wrong. Concern has been expressed over what has been described as a road in ‘an awful state’ which is stopping the HSE from treating the elderly in the area. Councillor Rena Donaghey said the road in on the outskirts of Buncrana was also prohibiting Home Help service and An Post from gaining easy access to the area.It is understood that there are three dwellings in the vicinity, including one with “a very sick person” which is stopping the HSE from travelling down the road due to its disrepair. Asking Donegal County Council to examine the road, the Inishowen councillor said: “One road in particular that I wanted to highlight is a road in Ballynahone, which is a county road and is an awful state altogether.“The HSE bus has refused to go down to pick up a very sick person, the postman is complaining and I have received a letter from the home help worker which says she has broken two suspensions on her car and she will have to stop providing the service that she is currently providing.“A number of elderly be on the bus when they are collecting the resident in the area and they’re nearly shaking apart when travelling down the road.”“What I am asking is that the Donegal County Council to add it to an emergency list and for it to be repaired as soon as possible.” Seamus Hopkins, Area Manager for Donegal County Council, said the authority would consider the road as a matter of urgency.Inishowen road in “awful state” prohibiting HSE from treating elderly, Cllr says was last modified: October 30th, 2019 by Shaun KeenanShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)
The A’s have 12 players that are arbitration eligible heading into the 2019/2020 offseason. The team has until December 2 to decide who to tender contracts to, or non-tender.Some jump off the list as sure-fire, relative bargain targets for contracts. Some may warrant non-tenders or trades, either because of 2019 struggles or to de-clog positional pipelines. Here’s a breakdown of the arbitration possibilities, with some projections from a typically-accurate MLBTradeRumors.com post. The purpose of the conference is to ensure that South Africa communicates with one voice both domestically and internationally leading up to and beyond 2010.“We are already looking beyond 2010 to where we want to position South Africa in the next decade,” says Yvonne Johnston, the CEO of the IMC. “A major event such as the soccer World Cup attracts global attention but it has to be supported by strategies and structures to ensure a lasting legacy.”“Our objective is to establish Brand South Africa as one of the most prominent and desirable global brands,” says Johnston.Germany 2006 has shown that making the best of the opportunities offered by such an enormous event entails more than hosting soccer games successfully. The host country must brand itself at the same time, as was done so well by the Germans. Therefore one of the key-note speakers at the conference will be the man who did just that for Germany, Mike de Vries. He is the CEO of the branding company FC Deutschland GmbH.Another speaker is internationally renowned Raul Parelba from Spain, who will focus on the branding and marketing opportunities provided by a major event. He is Director Partner of Trout & Partners, the global positioning specialists. The speakers and their topics include:Minister in the Presidency, Essop Pahad, who will look at opportunities for the continent brought about by the World Cup.The CEO of the Government Communication and Information System (GCIS), Themba Maseko, who will spell out the government’s commitment to and expectations for 2010.Danny Jordaan, CEO of the Local Organising Committee, who will highlight marketing opportunities for local corporates.Thaninga Shope-Linney, NEPAD’s general manager for communications and outreach, who will add to Minister Pahad’s continental perspective on the 2010 World Cup.Wolfgang Grulke, CEO of FutureWorld will look at Africa and South Africa in the 21st century. Yvonne Johnston, CEO of the IMC, will also be speaking at the Conference – spelling out Brand South Africa’s future strategy in her address. She has very high expectations of the Conference, describing it as “a tremendous opportunity for the world view South Africa even more positively and Alive with Possibility than it does now.”This conference is being hosted in collaboration with the 2010 National Communications Task Team.
